LOWELL - Evelyn M. (Pelland) Lafond, 77, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died unexpectedly Friday evening, February 4, 2005, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of Armand J. Lafond with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 3, 2004.
Born in Lowell on July 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Narcisse and Yvonne (Normandin) Pelland.
She was a graduate of St. Louis Parochial Grammar School and St. Louis Academy and was active in the St. Louis Alumnae Association.
Prior to her retirement in 1989, Mrs. Lafond was employed by the Lowell Police Department in the Records Bureau.
An avid walker, Mrs. Lafond would walk most every morning at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, NH.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne M. and Charles G. Walls of Chelmsford; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald A. and Julia A. (Souza) Lafond of Lowell; five grandchildren, Carol Ann Froton and her husband Franklin J. of Pelham, NH, Jared A. Lafond of Lowell, Gavin C. Walls of Chelmsford, Corrienne Lafond of Exeter, NH and Amber J. Lafond of Lowell; a daughter-in-law, Gail Lafond of Nashua, NH. She was the mother of the late Normand J. Lafond and sister of the late Normand Pelland.
