Eva A. (Chasse) Patenaude

November 17, 1940 — May 20, 2022

Eva Ann Patenaude, 81, died on May 20, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved long-time companion to James Gass of Dracut for 27 years.

She was was born in Lowell on November 17, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Wilhelmina (Lavoie) and Leo Chasse Sr.. She worked for the Lowell School System for many years.

She loved to crochet, do needle point and cross stitch. However, her greatest joy were her kids and grandkids.

Eva is survived by and will be deeply missed by her five children, Roger Patenaude Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Tilton, NH, Karen Barnett and her husband Sam of OH, Russell Patenaude and his wife Susan of Chester, NH, Robin O'Rourke and her husband Michael of Moultonborough, NH and Leo Patenaude of KY; her twelve grandchildren, Rhiannon, Brad, Danielle, Laura, Ashley, Bobby, Roger, Russell, Joey, James, Bridget and Travis; her eleven great-grandchildren, Lacey, Trinity, Aden, Eli, Braylon, Bella, DJ, Lexie, Aiden, William and Abigail; her sister, Marguerite Laurencelle of Lowell; her cousin, James Lavoie; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the grandmother of the late Joseph "Joey" Patenaude and the sister of the late Lawrence Chasse and Leo Chasse Jr..

Relatives and friends are invited to Eva's Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1 PM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 95 Lakeview Avenue, Tyngsboro. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eva's memory to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854.
