OBITUARY
GROTON, CT - Eva D. (Leclair) Courtney, 89, a resident of Groton, CT for the last several years, died Sunday evening, February, 18, 2007 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. She was the widow of Samuel J. Courtney.
Born in Lowell on February 20, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Rozider and Emma (Couture) Leclair.
While residing in the Lowell area, Mrs. Courtney was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut, MA, AARP, the Lowell Senior Citizens Club and the Dracut Senior Citizens Club. While residing in Connecticut she was a member of the Groton Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Houde of Groton, CT; three grandsons, Frederick R. Houde III and his wife Anneliese of Ledyard, CT, Samuel Houde and his wife Cherryl of Fitchburg and Robert Houde and his fianc�e Dee Gunnison of New London, CT; five great grandchildren, Anneliese E. Houde and Jessica E. Houde, both of Ledyard, CT, Crystal Houde of Worcester, Robert Houde, U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Carson, CO and Laura Houde of Worcester. She also leaves Dee Gunnison's daughter, Bethany McNail of New London, CT. She was the sister of the late Henry, Eugene and Albert Leclair, Elizabeth Chenelle, Evelyn Parent and Loretta Drainville.
