DRACUT - Eugene A. "Fuzzy" Fissette, 88, a resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor F. (Brennan) Fissette, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2012.
Born in Tyngsboro, on November 13, 1933, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Lord) Fissette.
Gene was raised in Tyngsboro and South Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956.
Following, he attended the University of Lowell receiving an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering and served in that capacity with MA-COM from which he retired.
He enjoyed boxing in his youth with the Silver Mittens of Lowell and continued boxing while with the Air Force. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the former Hynes Golf League. Gene also held membership in the Knickerbocker Club of Lowell.
He and Eleanor enjoyed traveling and Cape Cod vacations. Most important to Gene was spending quality time with his loving family.
He leaves seven children and their spouses, Allen E. and Joy Beth Fissette of Kennesaw, GA, Sharon and David Tesoro of Merrimac, MA, Stephen and Linda Fissette of Gray, ME, Ann Marie and James Vandal of Dracut; Patricia and Stephen Langeleh of Tewksbury, Mary Ellen and Dana Jenkins of Lynn and Melissa and Robert Anderson of Smithfield, ME; fifteen grandchildren, Brannon and Matthew Fissette, Dwight, Evan and Philip Tesoro, Kenneth Fissette, Kristen McPhail, Colleen Fissette, Thomas and Jessica Vandal, Samantha Langeleh, Norris, Claire, Eddie and Eugene Bartlett; eight great-grandchildren, Stephen and Russell Fissette, Chloe Fissette and Zoe Skidmore, Henry McPhail, Edward and Elizabeth Fissette and Ashton Proctor; also many nieces and nephews. He also leaves close friends, Patricia and John DeFreitas, Elaine Murphy and Dolores Stalker. He was the brother of the late Doris McClean and Maria Potvin.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gene's Life Celebration on Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 AM in St. Michael Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
