She was born in Nashua, NH, on October 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Richard and Irene (Miller) Burgess.

Raised and educated in Nashua, she graduated from Nashua High School, and volunteered with the Junior Red Cross during school and early employment years.  After marriage, Mrs. Burgess worked part-time at various businesses, such as the Giant Store and Big Jim’s department store while raising her four sons.  In addition, she was employed as a cafeteria worker at St. Michael School where her sons attended, as well as Greater Lowell Technical High School.  Later, she would be employed with the IRS in Andover for over 20 years.  Through the years she volunteered her service at times with St. Michael’s, The House of Hope and the Lowell General Intensive Care Unit.  A communicant of St. Francis Parish in Dracut, she was also an active member of the Dracut Senior Center, where she enjoyed exercise sessions with her classmates.

Mrs. Burgess centered her life on faith, family and concern for the welfare of ones she came to know, especially those experiencing hardship of any kind.  Her family is forever grateful for her long life of love, Granite State grit, generosity and good cheer, as well as her willingness to help others overcome any difficult challenge along their journey.

In addition to her siblings Dorothy, Bobby and Betty, she leaves 4 sons, Michael “Rye” and his wife Rosalyn of Dracut, Lawrence and his wife Gail of Davis, CA, Alan of Dracut and Eric of Lowell; 9 grandchildren, Maribeth, Katherine, Greta, Evan, Elizabeth, Callum, Austin, Nathan and Emma; and 2 great grandsons, Finn and Avery.  She also leaves 2 daughters-in-law, Marsha and Josalyn, her dearest friend Frances and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her grandson Alan, and her siblings Richard, Beatrice, Robert, John, Buddy and Joan.
