Estelle V. (Lachapelle) Maloney, the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Maloney, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died on Monday March 24, 2014. She was 91.
Estelle was born in Lowell on August 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph O. and Ozine (Jette) Lachapelle.
Prior to her retirement in 1975, Estelle was employed as a stitcher for Hathaway Shirts.
Estelle was a communicant of St. Rita Parish, and held membership in the Dracut Senior Citizen Club, and the Centralville Senior Citizen Club.
Estelle enjoyed crochet, bingo, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards with her sisters.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the extraordinary care given to their mother during the last few years.
Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, Richard A. and Mary Ellen Maloney of Lowell, Stephen F. and Claire S. Maloney of Dracut; two sisters, Violet Plourde of Dracut, Pauline Piche of Nashua; four grandchildren, Maura McCabe and her husband James, Michael Maloney and his wife Julie, Kathleen Lachance and her husband Robert, Meghan Maloney; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Marie "Nell" Clermont, Claire Hebert, Roland Lachapelle, and George Lachapelle.
