Estelle R. (Forest) Gendreau, 88, of Lowell, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond P. Gendreau.
Born in Lowell on April 17, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Ernest L. and Eva L. (Carpentier) Forest.
For many years, Estelle was the head-teller at the former Lowell Cooperative Bank. She was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Parish. Estelle loved to sing and held membership in La Chorale Orion. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Estelle is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane Wolfgang of Windham, NH; Terri and Lee Kirkwood of Bon Carbo, CO; Jeanne and Paul Marion of Hudson, NH; Pauline St. Onge of Lowell with whom she resided. She was the beloved Memere of nine grandchildren, Michelle Burley, Paula Jean, Carl A. and Corey R. Lewandowski, Joanne Perron, Diane McDonough, Eric Marion, Claudine Owens, and Cheryl Batchelor and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Sr. Therese Forest, SCO of Lowell, Doris E. Belley of Tewksbury; and a sister-in-law, Therese (Marquis) Forest of Dracut. Estelle was the sister of the late Ernest, Andre and Rita Forest, Gabrielle Marquis and Pauline Tousignant.
