Estelle Jeannette D'Hondt

Estelle Jeannette (Dupuis) D’Hondt, age 93, a resident of Dracut died Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. D’Hondt who died in 1997.

  

She was born in Lowell on February 26, 1930 and was a daughter of the Nelson and Rose (Therrien) Dupuis. She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

  

Estelle spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family. 

  

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael Church in Lowell and was a longtime volunteer at the church’s St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.

  

Estelle is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Deborah D’Hondt of Owings, MD and Paul and Susan D’Hondt of Dracut; five grandchildren, Brian D’Hondt and his wife Kelly of Methuen, Amanda Kleczkowski and her husband Charles, Christopher D’Hondt, Kate D’Hondt and Megan D’Hondt all of Owings, MD; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother, Wilfred “Ernie” Dupuis of Bedford, NH; a sister, Rosemarie Busby of Dracut; a sister-in-law, Susan Dupuis of Lady Lake, FL; a brother-in-law, Arthur D’Hondt of Methuen; and many nieces and nephews. 

  

She was also the sister of the late Raymond, Frank, Russell, Donald, Harold and Evelyn Dupuis and Doris Demange.

  

It being her wish, there was no visitation and services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Estelle’s memory to The Jimmy Fund, C/O Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168
