Ernest A. "Pop" Lambert

LOWELL – Ernest A. "Pop" Lambert, 90, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Tuesday morning, January 8, 2013. He was the husband of the late Doris A. (Forget) Lambert.
Born in Lowell on December 5, 1922, he was a son of the late Emile and Ernestine (Grady) Lambert.
Ernest was a 1939 graduate of Lowell High School.
An Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Lambert was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne.
Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was employed by the Lowell office of the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. Previously he had been employed with United Elastic of Lowell.
He was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Church, a member of the American Legion Post 40 in Plymouth, MA and a life member of VFW, Walker Rogers Post 662 in Lowell.
Ernest is survived by two sons; Normand E. Lambert and his wife Sheila of San Antonio, TX, and Paul R. Lambert and his wife Sandra of Plainfield, NH, two sisters; Jeanne Guay and Doris Lambert, both of Baltimore, MD, 7 grandsons, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
