Eric R. Gauthier, 43 beloved husband of Stephanie M. (Cassotis) Gauthier passed away unexpectedly at his Haverhill home on Saturday, March 26, 2016. He was 43.
He was born in Methuen on February 22, 1973, a son of Francine (Marcoux) and Mike Chaput of Dracut, MA, and Roger and Michelle Gauthier of Londonderry, NH.
Eric resided and was educated in Drummondville, Canada until the age of 14. He then attended and graduated in 1991 from the Greater Lowell Technical High School where he studied plumbing. After graduation he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was honorably discharged in 1991.He worked for his Uncle Mike Marcoux at MC Company before starting his own company E. Gauthier & Sons Plumbing.
Eric married the love of his life and was a devoted husband to his wife Stephanie, with whom he has spent the last 26 years with, and sons Corey and Alex. He cherished every minute he spent with them. He enjoyed taking them fishing and hunting. They relished the end of the day when they cooked their catch together. Some of his favorite places to go were Swain's Lake, NH, the Basin in NH, his Grandpa's camp in St. Felix and Drummondville, Canada.
Eric looked forward to jumping on his motorcycle to go for a ride. He also loved to go to the gym for a workout. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family, whether it was sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows, watching, playing and coaching football with his boys, or shooting baskets with his boys, he was happiest when encircled by his family.
Eric was a member of the NRA, Better Business Bureau, and had served for several years as a coach for Pop Warner Football in Hampstead, NH.
Surviving him besides his parents and step parents and his wife Stephanie with whom he would have celebrated 19 years of marriage this coming May are his two sons, Corey and Alexander both of Haverhill; his maternal grandmother, Therese Marcoux of Dracut; his nieces and nephew Caprielle, Kendelle, Steven; Godmother and Aunt, Diane Marcoux of Dracut; mother in law and father in law, Robert and Anne Barney of Haverhill; brothers in law and sister in law, Lorraine and Joe Carboni of Lakeville, MA, Nicholas Cassotis of NC; his Godchildren Caprielle and Kinsley; and many cousins. He was the grandson of the late Rolland Marcoux and nephew and Godson of the late Michael Marcoux.
