Emily M. (Goyette) Dupuis, age 90, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away and went to heaven on Saturday, January 14, 2023 following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald H. Dupuis, who died in 1995.
She was born in Lowell on August 30,1932, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Krygowska) Goyette. She attended St. Stanislaus School in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She later went on to earn a certificate in Floral design from Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston.
Emily spent many years caring to the needs of her family and home and she also held many jobs outside of the home, including Symphonics Radio and Quinn-Pak Candy, both in Lowell. She then, along with her husband, went on to own and operate Village Florist Shop in Seabrook, NH and finally ending her career as a tax examiner for the IRS in Andover. Following her career, after retiring Emily volunteered her time for many years at Lowell General Hospital including the new Cancer Ctr in the Radiology department.
Emily was a kind, courageous, remarkable, hardworking women. Anything that was thrown her way she handled with grace and dignity and never complained, even if she was in pain herself, she would not want to bother anyone. Her faith and the love of her family was the most important to her. She especially enjoyed being with her 2 precious granddaughters and grand-pup. When the puppy was running around the house she would always say, “she’s foxy”, and we would all laugh. They were the light of her eyes, even though she could not see for many years. Emily also never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Emily had many hobbies, including calligraphy, cooking, typing and doing crafts.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David St. Laurent of Methuen; her loving son David Dupuis of Lowell; and her precious granddaughters, Brianna and Olivia St. Laurent of Methuen. She is also survived by her twin brother Edward Goyette Sr (her better half as she would say) and his wife Theresa of Dracut, Peter Goyette Sr of Dracut and Henry Goyette and his wife Phyllis of Windham, NH; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Gail Dupuis and Lisa Dupuis and the sister-in-law of the late Theresa Goyette.
The Family would like to thank everyone, and there were many people that took care of Emily in the last month between Hospital stays and 2 rehabs, and we appreciated all of your help, guidance and kindness.
