Emily V. Antifonario

Lowell - Emily V. (Spinelli) Antifonario, lovingly known by many as "Nonna", widow of Joseph Antifonario who died in 1988, passed away unexpectedly Saturday November 13, 2010 at her Bruyere Gardens residence. She was 92 years old.
Emily was born in Barre on April 6, 1918, a daughter of the late Angelo and Lucy (Sdoia) Spinelli.
Emily was educated at the former St. Peter's School and was a communicant of the former St. Peter Church. She then moved to the Centralville section of Lowell where she lived for many years. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Emily held membership in the Lowell Senior Citizen Club.
Nonna loved to cook, her friends enjoyed the times when she would bring her homemade "Italian Wedding Soup" to the senior center. She was known in her family as the "Ravioli Queen", and her ravioli recipe inspired the former Ravioli Factory in Dracut.
Emily also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and listening to Lawrence Welk. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Florence "Sissy" and Paul Cronk of Dracut; three sons and daughters in law Joseph F. and Barbara Antifonario of Methuen, Carl J. and Maureen Antifonario of Windham, NH, Frank J. "Tappy" and Rachel Antifonario of Dracut; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother Michael Spinelli of Hampton, NH; two sisters and a brother in law, Victoria Stamp, Virginia and Al Pascale all of Sarasota; a sister in law, Christine Spinelli of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward, Louis, Salvatore and Leonard Spinelli.
