Elizabeth Lorette Gamache

Elizabeth Lorette (Chenelle) Gamache, passed away peacefully in her home, with family around her, on February 10th, just short of her 90th birthday. She was the loving wife of 67 years to Raymond A. Gamache. They met and became high school sweethearts. Three years after high school, in 1956 they married, had children, raised their family and shared their lives together.


She was born in Lowell to Elizabeth E. (Leclair) and Hector D. Chenelle.


In her early adulthood, she worked at Sylvania. She also was employed in positions where she offered care and service through her skills with organizing and bookkeeping in hospitals and doctor's offices. She provided loving care for aging family members and others throughout her life. She had a big heart and loved her husband with depth, kindness and understanding. She taught her children unconditional love, care and a sense of duty.


In addition to her husband Raymond, Elizabeth will be missed by her children and their spouses, MaryBeth and Kevin Barrett, Michael and Lisa Gamache, Colette and Marcel Courtemanche and Christine and Walter Bond; her 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucille and her husband Alfred Bevins; her brother, Hector and his wife Anne Chenelle; as well as many nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her son, Raymond L. Gamache and her brother, Maurice Chenelle.


Relatives and friends are invited to Elizabeth’s Life Celebration on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 9 until 10 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at Ste Therese’s Church, Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, Dracut. Burial will be held privately.
