Eleanor L. (Durham) Zannoni, beloved wife of Egisto Terrance Zannoni, died at her Dracut residence on Monday, January 2, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was 85.
Born in Lowell on February 4, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Geoghegan) Durham.
Eleanor grew up in Sacred Heart Parish and graduated from the Sacred Heart School. She was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School, where she was a 1st Lieutenant with the Girl Officers.
While raising her family Eleanor did the accounting for her husbands masonry and construction company. Later she also worked as a bookkeeper with Belanger and Martin CPA, and then worked as a seamstress for Pelham Fabrics.
Eleanor was a communicant of St. Michael Church. She enjoyed many activities in her lifetime. Eleanor loved spending time with her family and friends by the beach and many events by her poolside. Baking, gardening, sewing, cribbage and fun times at Foxwoods Resort were just a few of the things she enjoyed in her life.
Spending endless nights up at the kitchen table are times her family will cherish forever.
Her family would like to thank all of the health care professionals, especially Lily, Natasha, Hady, Esther, Dora, Gloria, Marie, and Shirley for the exceptional care given to Eleanor these past months.
Surviving her besides her husband Terry, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage are four children and their spouses, Gail and Roger Perreault, Patti and Kevin Richards, William and Rita Jean Zannoni, Robin and Mark Birolini all of Dracut; eight grandchildren, Jim Perreault, Ashley Walsh, Michael Richards, William Zannoni, Theresa Zannoni, Brooke Birolini, Brittany Birolini, Olivia Birolini; two great grandchildren, Aria Walsh, Brody Walsh; a sister Dorothy Dunlavey of MD; a sister in law, Virginia Burk of FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Blomgren, Alice Shaw, Rita Cahill, Brendan Durham, Ann Martin, and Robert Durham.
