Elaine S. (Riley) Wright, age 81, a resident of Lowell died Monday, December 11, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Fred C. Wright who died 1979. 

She was born in Lowell on July 13, 1942, and was the daughter of the late John L. Riley and Lucille E. (Ferron) Riley.  Elaine grew up in Billerica and was a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School, class of 1960.  

Before her retirement she worked at ServRite in Acton.  Prior to that she worked at Wang Labs for many years.  

Among her many activities, Elaine loved traveling and made many trips to Aruba as well as travel to Las Vegas, California and the Bahamas.  She also loved reading, doing crossword and jig saw puzzles, and watching the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.  Her greatest joy however, was watching her grandchildren grow.  She was a member of the Lowell Senior Center and was also a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Salvation Army and the Franciscan Missions.  

Elaine leaves two sons, Steven P. Wright and his wife Ellen and a grandson, Steven P. Wright, II who reside Lowell and Fred C. Wright and his wife, who reside in S. Carolina and a grandson Fred and a granddaughter Casey of Merrimack, NH; a brother-in-law, David Paquette and his wife Linda of Pelham, NH; three nieces; and two nephews. 

She was the daughter-in-law of the late Paul and Jeannette (Descoteaux) (Wright) Paquette and the sister-in-law of the late Joanne (Wright) (Smith) Ouellette and Norman Ouellette.   

It being Elaine’s wish, services were private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Salvation Army of Greater Lowell or the Franciscan Missions.
