Elaine M. (Turcotte) Sweeney, 52, of Lowell, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was the wife of Andrew J. Sweeney of Lowell.
Born in Lowell on July 5, 1961, she was a daughter of Rene J. and Dorothy G. (Chandonnet) Turcotte of Lowell who survives her.
Elaine was raised in Lowell, having attended grade school at Ste. Jeanne d'Arc School and high school at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen. She later furthered her education at Middlesex Community College. Elaine was previously employed by the Law offices of Ropes & Gray, LLP and Sullivan & Worcester, LLP in Boston.
Elaine loved to sew, having made many special items for her daughters over the years. Dancing made Elaine very happy, as did cruising around in her convertible on the weekends with her husband. She was artistic and creative and demonstrated this through her passion for editing photography. Out of all of her talents and enjoyments in life, one of the most gratifying was becoming a grandmother, as shown through her abundance of love for her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine is survived by her children, Beth A. Hogan and her husband, J. Ryan of Lowell; Bridgette M. Brown and her husband, David S. of Lowell; Lindsay N. McDermott of San Diego, CA; Ashley C. Heiser and her husband, Anthony J. of Bluffton, SC; Amanda L. Sweeney of Lowell; her grandchilden, Rylie D. Hogan, Brady K. Hogan, Luke D. Brown, and Gianna J. Druziako. Elaine was anticipating the arrival of a new grandchild in May. She is also survived by four sisters, Renee Plummer and her husband, Donald of Dracut;Gloria Donahue and her husband, Andrew of Methuen; Karen Dinter and her husband, Heinz of Virginia;Christine Robinson and her husband Kris of Dracut; a close friend, Lola Vidal of Lowell; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her two beloved puppies, Ruby and Olive.
