Eileen F. Toland

January 7, 1947 — May 7, 2024

Nashua, NH

Eileen (Stroby) Toland, 77, of Nashua, NH, died Tuesday, May 7, surrounded by her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Eileen was a great friend to so many.

She was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., the middle child of Francis and Agnes (Dorsch) Stroby. She was raised in Drexel Hill, Pa., and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in nearby Upper Darby, Pa.

After marrying, Eileen eventually settled in Lowell, Mass., where she raised her family. While in Lowell, she spent many years working in sales for the former Colonial Gas Co. In her later years, she moved to New Jersey to care for her mother. There, she was deeply involved in local politics, leading the Northfield Democrats for several years. She spent the last year living in Nashua, which gave her the opportunity to spend more time with her grandchildren and her first great-grandchild.

Her family was always at the center of her life, never more so than when she became a grandmother. She had a knack for making each of her seven grandchildren feel special, carefully creating memorable experiences in every visit and phone call. She was over the moon when her first great-grandchild arrived in 2023.

While she grew up with a large extended family, her interest in genealogy uncovered many distant cousins, growing her family tree even further. Eileen made lifelong friends wherever she went, from her youth in Pennsylvania, to the years spent raising her children in Massachusetts, and ultimately her later years spent in New Jersey. She was endlessly creative and enjoyed sharing her art and crafts with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children, Alysia Wyatt and her husband, Robert, of Billerica, Mass., Terrence Toland Jr., of Derry, NH, Jennifer Toland, of Atlantic City, NJ, and Andrew Toland and his wife Deidre Ashe, of Manchester, NH; seven grandchildren, Miranda Toland, Kelsey Wyatt and her husband Mark Pagkaliwangan, Danielle Toland, Emily Wyatt, Laney Wyatt, and Cormac and Brenna Toland; one great-grandchild, Pippa Pagkaliwangan; her sisters, Agnes McVeigh and Annie Gresko; her dearest friend and cousin, Mildred DeRenzo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eileen’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Saturday, May 11th from 9:30 until 11:30am followed by her Funeral Service at 11:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380 or at komen.org.
