Eileen J. Downing

Nashua, NH - Eileen J. (Desmond) Downing, 74, widow of John J. Downing, a Nashua, NH resident died Saturday march 17 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua.
She was born in Lowell on July 23, 1932 a daughter of John Desmond and Juliette (Gagnon) Desmond of Reading, who survives her.
Prior to her retirement Mrs. Downing was employed as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed spending her summers at Hampton Beach, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family.
Surviving her besides her mother are six children, Michael Richard and his wife Rosemarie of Lowell, Marianne Lacourciere of Hooksett, NH, Joseph Richard of Dracut, Deborah Richard of Exeter, NH, William Richard and his wife Laurie of Dracut, Peter Richard and his wife Kathleen of Lowell; two brothers and sisters in law, Richard and Elsie Desmond of Boston, Robert and Lorraine Desmond of Falmouth; two sisters in law, Helen Desmond of Litchfield, NH, Denise Desmond of Cohasset; a dear friend Joan Brown of Hampton, NH, twenty three grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lawrence and Paul Desmond.
