Effie J. Griffin

LOWELL - Effie J. Griffin, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the age of 94.
She was born in Lowell on April 6, 1912, the daughter of the late Clarence and Clara (Miholick) Griffin.
She resided for 62 years on 11th Street in the Christian Hill section of the city and was a long time member of St. Michael Church. She attended Lowell High School where she served as class secretary for three years graduating with the class of 1929.
She enjoyed a thirty year career with the New England Telephone Company where she worked in the engineering department. She was also a twenty year volunteer at the former St. Joseph's Hospital and more recently became an active participant at the Andover Senior Center where she volunteered with the "Dolls For Dolls" group and enjoyed making knitted goods for the holiday fair.
She was devoted to her family and is survived by her niece, Pat (Carr) Becker of Tewksbury; one great niece, Karrie (Becker) Reardon of New Jersey; one great nephew, Scott Becker of Chelmsford. She was also the sister of the late Edith Carr of Lowell.
