Edward J. "Buddy" Thibeault, Jr., the beloved husband of Marion T. (Tardiff) Thibeault, died on Tuesday September 4, 2012, at his Dracut residence surrounded by his family. He was 87.
Ed was born in Dracut on December 3, 1924, a son of the late Edward J. and Winifred (Dahlgren) Thibeault.
He was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army. Ed participated in battles in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle.
He was employed as a draftsman, retiring from Mark IV Industries. Ed was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish.
Gubby as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was at his happiest when they were together .
He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He beat the odds and did it his way.
Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter and son in law, Judy and Raymond Desmarais of Dracut; a son, Ed Thibeault of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Jennifer Robles and her husband Mike, Jaime Sras and her husband Teddy, Jessica Desmarais and Chris Udeh-Ubaka; eight great grand children Kaylee, Kyra, Mikey, Kaiden, Kamren, Kyler, Karter, Khalia; a brother, Robert Thibeault of MI; two sisters, Patricia Piche of Lowell, Eleanor Mosley of Ft. Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Paula J. Thibeault. He was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters including the late Sgt. John L. Thibeault, US Army, killed in action in Vietnam.
