DRACUT - Edward R. Rondeau, 74, a resident of Dracut, passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (Szewczyk) Rondeau, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 29.
Born in Lowell on May 10, 1942, he was a son of the late Victor R. Rondeau, Sr. and Loretta (Martineau) Rondeau.
Mr. Rondeau served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge on March 17, 1966.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former GenRad, Inc. of Stowe, MA.
In addition to his wife Pat, he was the loving father to three sons, Mark Rondeau and his wife Stephanie (Fortin) of Westford, Bruce Rondeau and his wife Eileen (Casey) of Dracut and Ryan Rondeau and his husband John Pyers of Lowell. He also leaves five granddaughters, Erika, Jessica, Nicole, Norah and McKenzie Rondeau; a sister, Claire Quinton and her husband Russell of Lancaster, SC; a brother, Dennis P. Rondeau of Orlando, FL; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Gary and Michelle Szewczyk of Lowell and Dennis Szewczyk of Tewksbury; dear friends, Al and Toots Thellen of Salem, NH; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Victor R. Rondeau, Jr., and brother-in-law of the late Lisa Rondeau and Linda C. Rondeau.
