LOWELL- Edward P. Pepin, 77, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at the home of his daughter Tammy following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Donna R. (Evicci) Pepin, who died in 2013 and the late Doris J. (Sigman), who died in 1983.
He was born in Lowell on August 29, 1940, and was a son of Germaine (Matteau) Pepin of Lowell and the late Eugene "Ginger" Pepin.
Prior to his retirement, Edward was employed for 33 years as a firefighter for the City of Lowell, the last 10 of which he was an Inspector with the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Ed was a member of the former C. M. A. C. Men's club in Lowell and was an avid bowler, a trait that he shared with his sons. He also loved to take his family camping during the summer months. In his pre-retirement years, he loved to spend time up at the beach in Wells, Maine and traveling to Aruba. After his retirement, he became a member of the Lowell Retired Firefighters Association.
He is survived by four children and their spouses, Roger and Sherry Pepin of Salem, NH, Tammy and James Dauteuil of Lowell, Michael and Kristin Pepin of Dracut, and Ken and Malynda Pepin of Mississippi; fourteen grandchildren; four brothers, Donald and Mary Pepin of NH, Louis and Carol Pepin of Dracut, Joseph and Connie Pepin of Manchester, NH, and Paul and Michelle Pepin of Westford; his mother-in-law, Rita Evicci of Tyngsboro; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Barry Chevalier, Jr. and the brother of the late Richard Pepin and Gerard Pepin.
