Edward A. "Eddie" McCarthy, 58, of Dracut, MA passed away Saturday, August 17th at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a brief illness.
He was born February 18, 1961 in Lowell, MA to the late Paul L. and Virginia (Maguire) McCarthy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul J. McCarthy, his daughter Stacey Bradley, his brother-in-law Albert Brown and his nephew Paul Brown.
Eddie spent his career in the auto repair business and as an ironworker.
Anyone close to Eddie knows his smile was contagious and his true passion was love for family, being called Papa, and love for his New England Patriots. He enjoyed all Boston sports, hard rock music, and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast.
Those family members left to cherish his memory include his sisters Susan McCarthy and partner Mike Fuss of Madison, AL., Paula Brown of Nashua NH, Alice Moran and her husband James of Nashua, Colleen ("Kelly") Curley and her husband Brian of Dracut, MA, Tara McCarthy and her partner Lee Campaniello of Massapequa, NY and his brother Douglas McCarthy of South Bend, IN and his lifelong friend Myra McCarthy of Dracut.
Eddie will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Kathy White, Bobbie Lynn Lebron and her husband Moses Lopez Lebron. Known as "Papa" to his grandchildren, he will be greatly missed by Kailani and Kaylee Khounthy, Alexander Yen, Ashtin Bradley, Paul, Jr., Gavin, Justin, and Lily White, Seth Lopez, and great grandchildren Adonis Rivera and Roman and Malani Figueroa.
He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews Ellen Lamoreaux, Erin Waddle, Alyssa McCarthy, Christopher Desrosiers, Jesci Larochelle, Bridget Davis, Christina Moran, Robert and James McCarthy, Joshua and Samantha Curley and Adrian Maas. Many cousins and friends will miss his smile and sense of humor.
In celebration of Eddie's lifelong love of the Patriots, his family has chosen to wear New England Patriots attire and anyone else is welcome to do the same. McCarthy - Relatives and friends are invited to Eddie's Life Celebration at the McKenna Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, on Friday 8/23 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 followed by a Memorial Service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, One Patriot Place, Foxborough, MA 02035.
