LOWELL - Edward V. Lyman Sr., 59, beloved husband of Barbara E. (Burke) Lyman, died Monday, August 9, 2004 in Lowell. He was currently residing in So. Yarmouth, MA but was a former long time resident of Dracut.
Born in Lowell on September 24, 1944, he was a son of the late John E. and Catherine M. (Ryan) Lyman Sr.
Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed by the City of Lowell for 32 years as a Police Officer his position that of Fleet Manager. He was a member of I.B.O.P. Local 382.
While residing in Dracut he was a communicant of St. Michael Church and a member of the East End Club.
An avid golfer, Ed was a member of the Ste. Therese' Men's Golf League, the Monday Night Chelmsford Golf League and was Secretary of the CCISOGA Golf League of Maine.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Edward V. Lyman Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri and James F. Lyman of Lowell; two brothers, John E. Lyman Jr. and his companion John Murphy of Cambridge and Harry T. Lyman and his wife Laura of Lowell; a sister, Margaret Mary Milnes and her husband Daniel of Lowell; two granddaughters, Sarah Kay Shipley of Indianapolis, IN and Kaitlin Madison Lyman of Kansas City, Missouri; also several nieces and nephews. He was the son-in-law of the late Margaret A. Burke.
