Dracut – Edward E. Leczynski, Sr. the beloved husband of Jane I. (Szczepanik) Leczynski, passed away on Sunday June 2, with his family by his side. He was 91.
Eddie was a son of the late Jan and Jadwiga (Kruczek) Leczynski. He was born on the family farm in Dracut on April 13, 1922.
Eddie worked on his family's farm with his brothers. He enjoyed working outdoors. He later worked at Pacific Mills in Lawrence, the Ford Motor Company in Somerville, Martin Welding in Lowell, Lowell Gas Company, and then he went back to Martin Welding from where he retired.
Eddie was a Veteran of WWII where he served in the US Army. He held membership in St. Casmir Parish in Lowell, lifetime member of the Polish American Vets in Lowell, the Dom Polski Club, the Polish American Band of Lowell where he played the saxophone and clarinet. Ed also played with the Polkateers of Lowell with his late brothers in law Butch and Beansy Bozek and late sister in law Irene Bozek.
Eddie and Jane enjoyed travelling, they cherished their trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, San Francisco, the Caribbean Islands and Poland. He also enjoyed touring with the Swinging Brass.
Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter and son in law, Jane I. and Gary Rosinski of Dracut; a son Edward E. Leczynski, Jr. and Sandra Walor of Lowell; three grandchildren, Laura and Aric Tillson of Dracut, Kasia and Matt Hatfield of Swampscott, and Matthew Rosinski of Dracut; two great grandchildren, Emily and Joseph Tillson; sister Wanda Bozek of CT; brother and sister in law, Eugene and Alvina Leczynski of Lowell; a brother in law William Estabrook of Dracut; a sister in law Margaret Leczynski of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thaddeus, Walter and his wife Stella, Raymond, Myron and his wife Shirley, and Elvina Estabrook.
