Edward T. Haddad, Jr., beloved husband of Denise (Butler) Haddad, and a Lowell resident, died on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Tufts New England Medical Center, following a period of declining health. Ed recently celebrated his 64th birthday.
Born in Medford on May 11, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward T. Haddad and Jeannette Visconti of Medford who survives him.
Ed was a quiet man who enjoyed reading, and collecting tools. He was an avid camper and looked forward to jumping in the motor home and going on a trip. He and Denise visited the Football Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and his last trip was two weeks ago when they visited Lancaster, PA.
Ed also liked to fix cars and enjoyed working at Atamian Motors, in the shipping and receiving department. He did this following his 33 year career as a machinist in the research and development department of Raytheon.
Ed took pleasure in cooking, particularly his deep fried turkeys. He looked forward to the family trips to Disney, and he especially liked visiting EPCOT and their food and wine festival.
For many years he and Denise spent summers at Beach Acres in Wells, Maine. He loved to just sit by the campfire. Ed liked to fish when he had the opportunity, and watched the New England Patriots each season.
Ed was happiest surrounded by his family, largely his grandchildren, and his "Papa Daycare" when he was watching them.
Surviving Ed besides his mother and wife Denise, with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 18th, are his daughter and son in law, Teresa and Patrick Moriarty of Wrentham; three grandchildren, Bella, Logan and Caleb Edward Moriarty; a brother and sister in law, Peter and Sharon Haddad of West Haven, CT; a sister, Christina Ovalle of Revere; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was the father of the late Billy Don White-Haddad and Edward T. Haddad III.
