Edmond P. Dupuis

May 27, 1949 — January 13, 2023

Dracut

Edmond P. Dupuis, age 73, a longtime resident of Dracut died on Friday, January 13, 2023 following a brief illness. He died in his son Shawn's home surrounded by lots of family and their unbounded love for him.

Eddie was born in Lowell on May 27, 1949, and was a son of the late Raymond and Rose (Makos) Dupuis. He lived in Dracut, MA most of his life, but he spent 20 years living in South Florida in the 80s & 90s along with his then wife Elaine Dupuis and their 3 sons. His hobbies included doing projects and spending time with his son Shawn, spending time with Kayla Daigneault and her family, going to car shows with his friend Ricky Daigneault, fishing, collectables, playing poker, driving fast cars, watching sports, listening to The Beatles, and most of all, helping friends and family. Eddie would rather spend a Saturday helping a friend with a project than spend it doing something for himself. He was a selfless man with very little ego. He was a hard worker who stayed self employed as a floor installer for 40 years, working with his son Shawn for most of his career. He was a devoted father to Paul, Raymond, and Shawn Dupuis, a loving brother to Sue Musgrave and George Dupuis, a loving Grandfather to Desiree Dupuis, a doting great -grandfather to his new granddaughter Rose, and a good friend to so many others. He was very well known for his sense of humor, and being there when he was needed. Eddie had his share of tragedy and grief, losing 2 of his son's, Paul and Ray Dupuis. Both died young when they were just in their 40s, which was very painful for Eddie and the Dupuis family, but they stuck together and stayed close through it all.

Eddie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Dawn Dupuis; his granddaughter, Desiree Dupuis and her fiancè Evan Pantely; his great granddaughters, Rose Dupuis Pantely (and another on the way); his ex-wife Elaine Dupuis who he was still close with; his sister Sue Musgrave of Billerica; his brother George Dupuis of Shirley; and his dear friend, Kayla Daigneault.

Eddie was a positive presence in the lives of his family and friends and will be missed and remembered forever.

It being his wish, there will be no visitation.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Edmond’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00am at Ste. Marguerite Church in Dracut.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edmond’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
