LOWELL - Edward F. Coughlin, 89, a resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy H. (Smith) (Bonin) Coughlin.
Born in Lowell on November 18, 1920, he was a son of the late Patrick and Maria (Proctor) Coughlin.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Cab Driver for both the Diamond Yellow Taxi Service and the A & L Taxi Service for 30 years. He had been previously employed by the Robinson Top Dye Company of Lowell for 20 years.
He was a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of Lowell where he was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
He is survived by a son and his wife, Thomas E. and Elaine (Morin) Coughlin of Chester, NH; two grandchildren, Sean E. Coughlin and his wife Dawn of Pelham, NH and Monica R. Coughlin of Chester, NH; also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary E. (Lachapelle) Coughlin. He was also the brother of the late Cornelius, Thomas and Joseph Coughlin and Mary Drew.
