Edward B. Carbonneau, 91, a Dracut resident and the beloved husband of Doris (Mainville) Carbonneau took the hand of God and walked into eternity on Saturday, September 20, 2014 with his family by his side..
Edward was born in Westford on July 17, 1923, a son of the late Ludger and Marieanne (Gelinas) Carbonneau. He had been a resident of Dracut, Homosassa Springs and Ormond Beach, Fl for many years.
Edward was a WWII Army Veteran having attained the rank of S/Sgt. He would often speak of his time stationed in Italy and his love for the country.
He retired from Raytheon Corporation where he was last employed as a Quality Control Engineer..Edward was an active member for many years at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Tyngsboro where he held membership in the Dracut Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, Arthur U. Joyal Council #4225. During his retirement Edward was able to focus on the things that brought him pleasure.. He enjoyed his role as a wedding photographer and also cherished the time he spent in his garden, making crafts, or cooking for his family. For Edward, it was family that meant the most to him. He was devoted to them and they were paramount in his life, especially the love of his life Doris, with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage this past May 31st. Doris and Edward enjoyed traveling to Europe and Florida together. His family describes him as a loving and compassionate person who was considerate of others.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, two daughters and sons in law, Carol and William Larrivee of Westford, Gail Ann and Kenneth R. Irvine of Ormond Beach, FL; a son and daughter in law, Russell C. and Mary L. Carbonneau of Nashua, NH; five grandchildren, Nicole Sprague and her husband Scott of Brentwood, NH, Elissa Libby and her husband Jesse of Worcester, Laura Nelson and her husband Brian, of Stow, MA, Vanessa Peri and her husband Joseph of Winter Springs, Fl, Robert Perri and his wife Jennifer of Daytona Beach. Fl; nine great grandchildren, Zachary, Makayla, Jackson, Ella, Ashlyn, Reagan, Lathan, Lincoln, Brendon; a special, loving and supportive sister in law, Claire Beaulieu of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Joseph, William, Maurice, Alcid Carbonneau, Alice Luminello, Blanche Bernier, Antoinnette Valcourt, Annette Howe, Leona Greenfield, Eva Latulippe, and Claire Mabbe.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northwood Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and exceptional care given to Edward during his time there.
