Earl A. LeBourdais, 84, husband of Dorothy M. (Frawley) LeBourdais and a lifelong Lowell resident, died Wednesday evening at a local nursing home.
Born in Lowell on October 31, 1927, he was a son of the late Wilfred Charles and Overline (Gendreau) LeBourdais and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
During World War II, Mr. LeBourdais served in the United States Navy with the rank of Seaman First Class. For over thirty years, he worked as a cable splicer for New England Telephone Co. and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. LeBourdais was a ham radio operator with the call letters N1ARO.
He was an assistant Boy Scout leader with Troops 25 and 38 of Lowell meeting at St Louis Parish and St. Michael's Parish. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year for both Lowell Telecommunication Corporation and the Head Start Program. Mr. LeBourdais had many hobbies including fishing, camping and woodworking. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
In addition to his loving wife Dorothy of Tyngsboro, he is survived by a son, Robert E. and his wife Patricia LeBourdais of Lowell; three daughters, Sandra M. Kavanaugh and her husband Lee of Pelham, NH, Mary G. Renn and her husband Leonard of Lowell and Ann M. LeBourdais of Methuen; eight grandchildren, Jennifer DeMarco and her husband Michael, Brian LeBourdais, Stephen LeBourdais, Christine Blanchette and her husband Mark , Andrew Kavanaugh, Christopher Renn, Cynthia Milne and her husband Troy, Kevin LeBourdais and six great grandchildren.
