HUDSON, NH - Duarte M. Gomes, age 50, a resident of Hudson, NH and former Lowell resident died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH.
He was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on February 2, 1969, and was the son of Maria M. Gomes Rodrigues of Lowell and the late Jose Gomes. He was a graduate of the Greater Lowell Vocational High School, class of 1987.
Duarte was the owner of DMG Construction for many years.
In his free time he enjoyed deep sea fishing, cooking, and hosting gatherings for family and friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with the loves of his life, his children, Mackenzie and Devin.
Duarte will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone in need.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his adoring children, Mackenzie Gomes of Lowell and Devin Gomes of Brookline, NH; two sisters, Ana Aguiar and her husband Antonio of Lowell and Maria Gomes and her husband Joaquin Barrientos of Dracut; his nieces and nephews, Sabrina Otero and her husband Manuel of Nashua, NH, Nicole Silva and her husband TJ of Lowell, Rachel Hunt of Dracut, Kyle Aguiar of Mason, NH, Brandon Barrientos, and Ryan Barrientos, both of Dracut; and his girlfriend, Cathy Locapo of Londonderry, NH.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Duarte's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
