Dorothy P. Couture

DRACUT - Dorothy P. "Pat" (Pyrcz) Couture, 67, a Dracut resident, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the Lowell General Hospital following complications due to a cancer related illness.
She was the beloved wife of Donald R. "Kuch" Couture with whom she has been together with for the last 45 years and married to for the last 41 years.
She was born in Lowell on April 1, 1941 a daughter of the late Alexander J. Pyrcz and Dorothy T. (Betty) Pyrcz of Lowell who survives her.
Mrs. Couture and her husband lived locally for many years and moved to California where they resided in Orange County, CA for 12 years before relocating to the Lowell area in 1987. While in California Mrs. Couture worked with special needs children at the Good Shepherd Home and following her move back to this area went to work for the Tewksbury State Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Couture enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts and playing Bingo on Tuesday evening at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish. What brought her the most enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Donald Couture and his wife Kristin of Orange County, CA and David Couture, a Lowell Police Officer and his wife Kelly of Lowell; a daughter, Susan Gamache and her husband Normand of Billerica; five grandchildren, Jonathan Couture, Jennifer and Nicholas Runkle, and Jacob and Kyle Couture; two great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Aiden Couture; three brothers, John and James Pyrcz, both of Lowell and Randolph Pyrcz of Chelmsford; two sisters, Bernice Labrecque and her husband Leo of RI and Sandra Woods and her husband George of Lowell; two brothers-in-law, George Cooper of CA and David Quigley of Dracut; several nieces, nephews and many friends among whom are her dear friends, Kim DaSilva of Lowell, Holly and Steve Kemp of CA, Judy and Walter Nobrega of CA, Don and Parky Sousa of NH, Evelyn Proulx of Dracut, Joan A. Wawiernia of Cape Cod, Sam and Hidi Niget of Lowell and Dolly Shugrue of Lowell. She also leaves David and Kelly's two Boxer Dogs, Lincoln and Sebastian whom she loved very much. She was a sister of the late Stephen Pyrcz, Evelyn Cooper and Jo-Ann Quigley.
