Doris (Ferguson) Shay, beloved wife of the late Clark L. Shay, Sr., passed away unexpectedly at her Lowell residence on Sunday, January 20, 2019.
Doris would have celebrated her 100th Birthday this coming April. She was born in Lowell on April 10, 1919, a daughter of the late Raymond and Annie (Kearns) Ferguson.
Doris was educated in Lowell. She graduated from Lowell High School and attended Lowell Technical School. She worked for many years as a receptionist in the office of Dr. Drake.
Doris enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. She looked forward to camping and cookouts with her family and friends. She loved to be around her family. Doris was the neighborhood mother and most of the children called her "Mom".
Survivors include her sons, Clark L. Shay, Jr, Curtt Shay both of Lowell; a daughter Mary Luz of Derry, NH; grandchildren, Christopher Shay, Timothy Shay, Lindsay Janeiro, Lennie Luz, Mark Luz, David Luz, Beth Barela; great grandchildren, Courtney, Brooklyn, Tom and Sylvia, David, Cameron, Coleman, Jessica, Ron, Jillian, Nik, Alyssa, Katie and Delia.
Doris was the mother of the late Craig Shay.
Relatives and friends are invited to Doris' Life Celebration on Thursday from 10 until 11 AM, at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Her funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial in Edson Cemetery.
