Doris Yvonne (St. George) Provencher, the beloved wife of Maurice J. Provencher, died on Tuesday March 12, 2013, at her Dracut residence, surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was 77.
Doris was born in Lowell on June 24, 1935, a daughter of the late David and Irene (LeClair) St. George.
In her younger years Doris worked at the former Synthetic Yarns in Lowell. She retired from the Dracut School department working in the school cafeteria.
Doris was a communicant of St. Francis Parish. She enjoyed traveling and was famous throughout the neighborhood for her spring yard sales. Most of all Doris cherished her time spent with and helping her children and grandchildren.
Surviving her besides her husband of 58 years are two daughters, Susan Provencher, Paula Paulette Provencher both of Dracut; two sons and daughters in law, Robert and Susan Provencher of Pepperell, Paul and Tina Provencher of Tyngsboro; seven grandchildren, Jake P. Sheehan, Sarah Provencher, Samantha Provencher, Amanda Provencher, Ashley Provencher, Nicholas Provencher, Zachary Provencher; a step grandchild, Elisha Allen; a great grandchild, Avah Galan; a brother Robert "Coochie" St. George of Dracut; a sister Mary Jeannette Pulsifer of Lowell. She was also the sister of the late Rita Comtois and David "Sonny" St. George.
