Doris G. Proposki

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Doris G. (Brunette) Proposki, 79, passed away at home after battling a brief illness of cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Leonard “Lenny” Proposki, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Doris G. Proposki was born on January 31, 1945, to late Wilfred Brunette and Erilda "Dora" (Blais) Hamel and her husband late Joseph "Pete" Hamel. She grew up and studied in Lawrence, Massachusetts and graduated from Saint Anne’s High School. After raising her three children, she pursued a career as a dental hygienist in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Additionally, she played a significant role in helping her husband, Lenny Proposki, run the family photography business.

Doris enjoyed traveling on trips and going camping with her friends and family. She felt a great sense of pride in keeping her home spick and span and organized. Doris always had a smile on her face and could brighten up anyone's day.

In addition to her loving husband, Lenny, Doris is survived by her three children, Michael Proposki and his wife, Danyse (Morin) of Salem, NH, Kim (Proposki) Clifton and her husband Michael of Salem, NH and Scott Proposki and his wife Melissa (Brown) of Haverhill; her four grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Matthew and Katie; as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her late brother, Russell Hamel and his wife, Nancy and her late sister, Maureen (Hamel) Culliford and her husband, Roger.

Relatives and friends are invited to Doris’ Funeral Mass on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10 AM at ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI CHURCH, 115 Wheeler Rd, Dracut. Burial will be held privately. Donations may be made in Doris’ memory to Saint Francis Church, P.O. Box 609, Dracut, MA 01826.
