Doris B. MacDonald, 83, of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 4, 2015 at D'Youville Senior Care with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of James E. MacDonald of Dracut with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on August 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ovide and Eva (Loyer) Couillard.
For many years, Doris worked at the former Laura's Donuts on Lakeview Avenue in Dracut.
Doris enjoyed singing and dancing. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes and she liked to play bingo. She was a past member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Society of the former St. Joseph Church in Lowell.
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her children, Nancy and David Florig of Voorhees, NJ, AnnMarie and Kenneth Osteen of Copperopolis, CA, Linda and William Tierney of Dracut, Donna and Roy Cochrane of Milton Mills, NH, Cynthia and David Cunningham of Dracut, Mark and Michelle (Bellerose) MacDonald of Dracut; thirteen grandchildren, Dylan Florig, Prudence Vincent, Melissa McGinnis, Kimberly Tierney-Honan, Kelly Longley, William Tierney, Christine Bell-Stewart, Michael "Mickey" Bell, David Cunningham, Jr., Jennifer King, Meagan Cunningham, Olivia MacDonald and James MacDonald; 20 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Carmen and Gilbert Dufresne of Dracut; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Denise Couillard both of Lowell; many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ovide and Robert Couillard and mother-in-law of the late Timothy Bell.
