Doris C. (Ouellette) Eno, age 79, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica.
She was born in Dracut on April 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Leo J. and Anna M. (Perras) Ouellette, founders of the Leo J. Ouellette & Son Funeral Home. She shared ownership of the Funeral Home with her beloved late husband N. George Eno, Jr. and her late brother Maurice L. Ouellette.
She was a lifelong resident of Lowell and attended St. Louis Grammar School and St. Louis Academy.
Active in the former St. Louis de France Parish, she was a co-chair of the Carousel, the Christmas Fair and the St. Louis Guild.
Doris was an avid volunteer and an active member of many clubs including, Jeanne Mance and the D'Youville Manor Ladies Guild. She enjoyed attending plays at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre, and loved to bowl with her Tuesday bowling league which she did for years.
She worked as a Medical Technologist at the Health Department and the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell. She was also manager of the Canal Apartments for several years. She worked at Catholic Charities in the grandparent as parent program.
Her greatest happiness in her life was her family. She leaves behind her oldest daughter Michelle Webster and son-in-law Stephen, and their four children Taylor, Kyle, Curtis and Casey, all of Pelham, NH. Her youngest daughter Celeste Nelson and son-in-law Donald, and their three children, Meghann, Nicole and Douglas, all of Irasburg, VT. She also leaves two sisters, Pauline Woodbury and her husband Rodman of FL and Therese Swanson of Billerica; a sister-in-law Shirley Dalphond and her husband Albert of Dracut. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Max, Webby and Blondie.
