Doris Carbonneau

September 28, 1928 — December 20, 2024

Dracut

Doris (Mainville) Carbonneau, 96, the beloved wife of Edward B. whom she shared 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2014, took the hand of God and walked into eternity on Friday, December 20, 2024. Doris was born in Dracut on September 28, 1928 a daughter of the late Alice (Millette) and Hector Mainville. She grew up in Dracut and worked many years as a seamstress and later retired from Western Electric.

For Doris, it was family that meant the most to her. She loved to entertain and her home was always filled with family and friends, laughter and love. She was a talented seamstress and quilter and enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, making puzzles, playing the organ, traveling to Europe and weekends were often spent dancing on the ballroom floor. Her faith was strong and she had a deep devotion to St. Jude. Her family and friends describe her as a loving and compassionate person who was considerate of others.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister Claire Beaulieu of Dracut and two daughters and sons in law, Carol and William Larrivee of Westford, Gail and Kenneth Irvine of Ormond Beach, FL and a son and daughter in law, Russell and Mary L. Carbonneau of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Nicole Sprague and her husband Scott of Brentwood, NH, Elissa Libby and her husband Jesse of Bolton, MA, Laura Nelson and her husband Brian of Hollis, NH, Vanessa Peri and her husband Joseph of Oveido, FL and Robert Perri and his wife Jennifer of Ormond Beach, FL; fifteen great-grandchildren, Zachary, Makayla, Emmalynn, Jackson, Ella, Mason, Eva, Holden, Parker, Ashlyn, Reagan, Lathan, Lincoln, Brendon and Avery and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her sister Jeanne Guillemette and brothers, Lucien and Maurice Mainville.

The family would like to thank the staff and community at the Residence of Freeman Lake in North Chelmsford for their support, kindness and love given to Doris during her stay this past year.

And just as important, the family asks that you spend more time with your elderly loved ones because tomorrow is never promised.

Relatives and friends are invited to her committal prayers in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org/donate)
