Donald Wesley

February 3, 1947 — January 22, 2016

Donald Wesley, 68 of Dracut lost his battle with cancer on January 22, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born in Lowell February 3, 1947 a son of the late Herrick D. and Marie (Dufrense) Wesley.

Donald was educated in the Lowell schools and served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1971. Donald worked for the City of Lowell Fire Department for 28 years first on Engine 5 and retiring from Engine 7 in 2002.

Donald's yard was a source of pride and joy and he was always working to make it more beautiful. He enjoyed wood working during the winter months and visiting Florida. He also loved going to Cape Cod especially Sea Gull Beach.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol (Hall) and their two children; Donald Jr. and his wife Mary (McGrath) of Dracut, and their children Victoria and Savannah, his daughter Ellen and her husband Blake Genetti of Tewksbury and their son Benjamin. His sisters Mary Ann Wesley of Lowell, Sandra (Tobin) and her husband David of Lowell and their children Eric and Katelyn. His mother-in-law Jeannette (Martin)Hall of Lowell, his brother-in-law Stephen Hall of Lowell, his sister-in-laws Linda Hall of Casselberry, Florida, and Sharon Hall of West Yarmouth, MA. Donald also is survived by his nephews, nieces and their families; Billy Lambert, Joanne Pearson, Annette Beliveau, Kelly Roy, Erin Murphy, Darlene Villalobos, Elaine Fogarty, and Jim Barbee.

Donald was pre-deceased by his brother Herrick Jr., his sisters, Jeannette (Lambert), Jeanne (Barbee), and Theresa (Flannery).

The family would like to thank Staff at the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center for all their kindness and support during Donald's treatment. They would also like to acknowledge Dr. Patel and her team including Diane, Jenn, Heidi, and Lori as well as the cardiac care given by Dr. Jo and his staff including Kathy and Heather. Lastly we thank the hospice team of Circle Home Health Care who assisted in Donald's care at home.
