Donald J. Parrott, 88 years old, a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and lifelong resident of Lowell, died Sunday, March 24 at his residence.
Born in Lowell on August 29, 1924, he was a son of the late Louis J. and Marion A. (Dube) Parrott and was educated in the Lowell schools.
Mr. Parrott served his country during World War II in the United States Coast Guard. For many years Mr. Parrott worked as a hairdresser taking over the business his Mother started, the Ideal Beauty Salon in Lowell. He also was the hairdresser for the former Saunders Funeral Home in Lowell.
He is survived by his devoted partner, Thomas Lippe of Lowell, a brother and sister in law, Louis J. Parrott and his wife Patricia of Peabody and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parrott was also the brother of the late Valmore Parrott, Pricilla Hammer and Ruth Sullivan.
