Donald H. Ouellette, beloved husband of the late Claire (Cutress) Ouellette, died on August 28, 2013 at his Dracut residence with his family by his side. He was 84.
Donald was born in Dracut on March 18, 1929 a son of the late Gerard and Euginie (Pare) Ouellette.
Donald was educated in Dracut. He then served in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Donald retired from the former Sanders Corporation now BAE Systems working in the facilities department.
He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods resort, going out to daily breakfast with his sister and watching the Patriots and Red Sox. He loved to make his "famous" Superbowl meal.
Donald enjoyed working around his yard, tinkering with and repairing lawnmowers. He took pleasure in visiting flea markets and just sitting in his chair at home. He loved the family pets, but most of all he cherished his family. He loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play sports.
His beloved Claire and his family were paramount in his life. He was always a jokester, but very caring and giving. He was always welcoming and his home was always open to anyone. His great grandchildren considered him their best friend.
Survivors include, his children, Donald H. Ouellette, Jr., Joanne Ouellette, Judy Ouellette, all of Dracut; his grandchildren, April Ouellette, Donald J. Ouellette both of Dracut; great grandchildren, Tyler Gadwah, Devon Ouellette, both of Dracut, Kylie Lanthier of Lowell; a sister Simone Belanger of Lowell; Patrick Gadwah, of Dracut, Abby Lanthier of Lowell; several nieces and nephews, including Michelle Stanton of Dracut. He was also the brother of the late Leo Ouellette and Pauline Cordiero.
