Donald R. Desrosiers, 75, beloved husband of 52 years to the love of his life, Jeannette M. (Langlois) Desrosiers, died Saturday April 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lowell on May 4, 1938, the son of the late Roland Desrosiers and Jeanne (Morrissette) Desrosiers. He was a graduate of Lowell High School.
First and foremost he leaves his beloved family, Jeannette Desrosiers, his wife and sweetheart since the age of 14, his children, Ronald Desrosiers and his wife Marcie from Groton, MA., Rhonda Mullins and her husband, Bob from Groton, MA, and Richard Desrosiers and his wife Kristina from Norfolk, MA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Matthew, Brian and Cara Desrosiers, Stephen, Jeannette, Sarah and Carolyn Mullins, and Ava and Gavin Desrosiers.
He was self employed as a builder/developer for over 25 years and crafted many fine custom homes. Prior to his self employment, he was employed by Shanklin Corp in Ayer and Digital Equipment Corp in Maynard. Mr. Desrosiers also served in the United States Navy receiving an Honorable Discharge in March 1959.
Don touched so many lives and was a man of countless attributes. A friend who made you laugh, supported you and picked you up when you were down, never said no when there was work to do, and always the guiding force in our lives. He was a man who many aspired to be; loving, caring, devoted, hard working, selfless and funny. Don was an avid bowler and enjoyed boating, dancing, playing cards, and golfing. He was a big fan of the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He especially enjoyed his winter home in The Villages, FL.
He is also survived by his brother Roger Desrosiers and his wife Janice of Amherst, NH, a brother-in-law, Normand Paquette of Gilford, NH, and a sister-in-law Linda Desrosiers of Chelmsford, MA. He was also the brother of the late Jacqueline Paquette, Dracut, MA and Normand Desrosiers, Chelmsford, MA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
