Dianne M. (Nadeau) Maille

March 10, 1949 — July 28, 2014

Dianne (Nadeau), Maille, 65, passed away on Monday, July 28, at her home after a brave battle with ALS.
Born in Lowell on March 10, 1949, Dianne was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Patricia (Mone) Nadeau. She married her high school sweetheart, David Maille, with whom she would have celebrated her 44th wedding anniversary in October.
A devoted mother, Dianne is also survived by her daughter, Carrie (Maille) Hickey and her husband, Andrew Hickey, and two granddaughters, Maille and Catelyn Hickey of Boston, and her son, Christopher Maille of Lowell.
Dianne was a 1967 graduate of Lowell High School where she was 3rd Major in the Girl Officers Regiment and Captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. She also graduated from Lemuel Shattuck Nursing School and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a nurse and corrections officer at Billerica House of Correction where she was greatly admired and respected by her colleagues.
Dianne found great joy in the time she spent with her granddaughters, often planning elaborate activities filled with learning and fun. With them, she shared her love of history, including that of her hometown of Lowell, and inspired them to become excellent swimmers and creative, happy and loving children. They were her pride and joy.
Dianne loved the outdoors and enjoyed long walks with her husband, particularly in the White Mountains and near her second home in Waterville Valley, NH. She was exceptionally kind and caring to everyone that she met and was uniquely good-hearted. She will be loved and missed always by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and children, Dianne is survived by her sisters, Margaret Kurczynski and husband, Ted. of Akron, OH; Kathy Redman and husband, Rod, of Dracut; Marian Santos and husband, Rick, of Chelmsford; Judy Preston and husband, Ed, of Bristol, NH; Trisha Machado and husband, Larry, of Dracut; and her brothers Steve Nadeau and wife, Joanne of Hampton, NH; and Joe Nadeau and wife, Celeste, of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
