Diana I. (Beland) Brown

PUNTA GORDA, FL - Diana I. (Dufour) (Beland) Brown, age 85, a resident of Punta Gorda, FL and former Lowell resident passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Russell Brown and the late Raymond Beland, who died in 2006. 

She was born in Dracut on May 8, 1939, and was a daughter of the late Alfred and Leona (Maille) Dufour. She was a graduate of Dracut High School. 

During her children’s formative years, Diana spent her time tending to their needs. She later went on to work for many years as a manager in the restaurant industry at A.G. Pollard and Sons Restaurant in Lowell, Ronnie’s Steakhouse in Dracut and then retiring from The Ground Round in Chelmsford. During her time working at these restaurants she developed many lifelong friendships. 

An avid reader, Diana would spend many quiet moments wrapped up in a good book. Whether it was baseball, football, basketball, hockey, she had a passion for watching all New England sports. Tennis and golf as well. She loved sharing stories about her adventures traveling the world with her sister. Her most cherished times were making memories with family at Hampton Beach.

In addition to her husband, Diana is survived by her three children, Renee M. Smith of Chelmsford, Andrea L. Royer and her husband Raymond M. of Townsend and Anthony R. Beland and his wife Crystal J. of Merrimack, NH; seven grandchildren, Bailey, Kristin, Abbey, Brendan, Jocelyn, Lily and Xen; a great granddaughter, Leona; her sister, Doris Ready of Plainville; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Norman B. “Joe” Dufour.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Diana’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10:00am until 1:00pm followed by her Funeral Service at 2:00pm at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd. in Chelmsford.
