Dennis Toppi

Dennis Toppi a resident of Somerville passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 22, 2021 following an extended illness. He was 63.

Born in Somerville on January 13, 1958, he was a son of the late Albert and Catherine (Coppola) Toppi. Dennis grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville schools. He also attended Culinary school in Cambridge and was a chef for many years.
Dennis was employed as a chef at the Battery Warf Hotel and was member of Boston's local 26 Union.

Dennis enjoyed playing hockey and watching the NHL. He looked forward to large family gatherings where he would cook for everyone, and listening to the Beatles.

His survivors include his wife Stephanie (Ovesen) Toppi; a daughter Kristen Toppi and her wife Dr. Rachel Mullen; a grandson Jared; a granddaughter Ava; his sons Vincent and Jaiden; brother Albert; sisters Rita Toppi and her partner Connie Gauthier, Cathy Toppi and her husband Normand Ouellette, twin sister, Deborah Toppi and her wife Celeste Chagnon; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Marie and Michael Toppi.
Relatives and friends are invited to Dennis' Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street from 11 until 1 PM on Thursday, July 29, 2021. The Toppi family respectfully requests all in attendence to please wear a mask. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Dennis' name may be made to Cancer Center at Mount Auburn Hospital, 330 Mount Auburn St. Cambridge, MA 02138
