DRACUT - Dennis R. Proulx, age 74, a lifelong resident of Dracut died Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital under hospice care following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Pearl R. Proulx, to whom he was married for 55 years. 

He was born in Lowell on December 30, 1949, and was a son of the Simone L. (Trudel) Proulx of Dracut and the late Rene L. Proulx. He received his education in Dracut schools and he was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1969. He also attended Franklin Institute in Boston, where he studied electrical engineering. 

Prior to his illness, Dennis was self employed as an electrical contractor for over 33 years. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and landscaping his yard.

Dennis’ will be remembered for being a hard worker and even though he was a little rough around the edges, he had a heart of gold. 

His family would like to thank all of the staff at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell for the phenomenal care they have provided to Dennis for the last 15 years, especially his amazing, wonderful, and caring CNA Denise, whom he loved. 

In addition to his wife and mother, Dennis’ is survived by his two children, Kimberly A. Plant and her husband Hal of Mansfield and Dennis R. Proulx, Jr. of Dracut; three grandchildren, Timothy Proulx, Alexander P. Brown and Logan Plant; a sister, Linda A. Proulx; two brothers; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Germain and her companion Roger Lampron of Dracut and Germaine Germain of Hudson NH; his best friend, George “Ke-mo-sah-bee” Tatseos and his wife Mary Jo of Tyngsboro; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was also the son-in-law of the late Leopold Germain, the brother-in-law of the late Richard Germain and Paul Germain, and his late fur baby companions Bobo, Lady, Princess, Digger, Bone, Gabby, Nenè and Candy. 

It being the family’s wish, services were private. Donations may be made in Dennis’ memory to The Depression Bipolar Support Alliance at namimass.org.
