Dennis E. Litchfield

Dennis Litchfield was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He died September 12, 2022, with his family by his side in his home in Bradenton, FL.

 

He was born July 3, 1945, in California to Francis and Marion Litchfield. They relocated to Great Neck, NY.   He then went on to attend Lowell Tech and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  In 1972 he obtained his Master of Science in Administration at George Washington University.  While attending Lowell Tech he met and married Bernadette Litchfield.  After graduation they relocated to Virginia where he started his career with the Department of Defense. 

 

Dennis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernadette Litchfield, his children; Dennis Litchfield II, Carolyn Salter (Joe) and Kelly Patrick, as well as his grandchildren, Kevin Salter, Alexander Salter, Diane Bronkema (Nathan) and Matthew Salter.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Litchfield and parents, Francis and Marion Litchfield, brothers, Glenn Litchfield and Bruce Litchfield as well as son-in-law Dan Patrick.

 

He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  After his career working for the Department of Defense, he has enjoyed his retirement by spending time with family as well as traveling to explore the world.  His favorite travel mode was cruising. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dennis’ Funeral Service on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 12:15pm at the St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dennis’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a stjude.org.
