DRACUT- Dennis London DeLucia, 69, a long time Dracut resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday November 24, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Martha (Finnerty) DeLucia with whom he would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on December 6,2013.
Born in Boston on September 9, 1944, he was a son of the late Joseph and Pauline (London) DeLucia.
Dennis served in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1966, during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Dennis began his career as a Firefighter for the City of Lowell from 1972 until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, Dennis worked for the Town of Dracut Cemetery Department for many years until recently. He held membership in the VFW, American Legion, Wilmington/Tewksbury Lodge of Elks and the Retired Firefighters Association. He was also a proud lifetime member of the Dracut Civic Club. He worked hard all his life but would tell you that his greatest achievement was his loving family.
In addition to his wife, Martha, survivors include a daughter Julie (DeLucia) Buchanan and her husband, Glen of Dracut; three sons, Anthony DeLucia of Dracut, Nicholas DeLucia and his wife, Megan of Dracut, U.S.A.F. Tech Sgt. Christopher DeLucia and his wife, Keri of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Jack and Joseph Buchanan, Samantha and Alexandra DeLucia, Rocco and Lyla DeLucia, Samuel and Adam DeLucia; three brothers, Joseph DeLucia and his wife, Sandy of Tewksbury, Robert DeLucia and his wife, Donna Horsch of Derry, NH and Donald DeLucia of CA; many nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends including his faithful companion, Buck. He was the brother of the late David DeLucia.
