Denise E. Haddad

Denise E. (Butler) Haddad, 70, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, October 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Denise was born in Waltham, MA on September 16, 1956 to the late Eleanor (MacDonald) Gist and Robert Butler. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Haddad, Jr.

Denise was the proud owner of Belvidere Barber Shop, a local business, for 18 years before retiring in 2022. It brought her great joy to also provide haircuts at a number of special needs group homes in the area.

Denise loved knitting and would often gift her creations to family and friends. She got immense joy from time with her grandchildren. She loved spending summers at their home in Wells, Maine and looked forward to their many family trips to Disney.

Later in her life Denise met Carl and they enjoyed quiet times at home, traveling, walking and were always into an adventure. They loved kayaking and fishing, where she caught a striper that bested any of Carls, and together they started her grandsons love of fishing.

Denise is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Patrick Moriarty of Wrentham; her three grandchildren, Bella, Logan and Caleb Moriarty; her brother, Michael Butler and his significant other, Carol Guthrie of Methuen; her significant other, Carl Singelais of Chelmsford; her dearly loved dog, Bentley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Billy Don White-Haddad and Edward T. Haddad III and sister of the late Clifford Gist.

Relatives and friends are invited to Denise’s Life Celebration on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 7 PM. There will be a private burial at a later date.
