Debra A. Letendre

March 16, 1961 — August 25, 2018

DRACUT - Debra A. Letendre, age 57, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Lawrence on March 16, 1961, and was the daughter of Paul W. Letendre of Dracut and the late Rita A. (Calandriello) Letendre, who passed away in 2016. She was educated in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.

Prior to her illness, Deb was employed for many years as a title clerk by Copart in Billerica. She excelled at her job, which was evident by the numerous awards she received while there.

Deb devoted her life to her daughter Hollie, and frequently said her purpose on this earth was to be her mom. She was her biggest cheerleader through all the highs and lows throughout her life, coaching her Pop Warner cheer and dance teams, and being the ultimate "Dance Mom". As her favorite band Queen said, "In rain or shine you've stood by me girl, I'm happy at home. You're my best friend."

Along with her "awesome-sauce" sense of humor, she was known for her contagious laugh and her sassiness. She loved to dance and sing, doing so anywhere from karaoke with a full audience to alone in her car. She enjoyed reading and showing off her knowledge while competing with her family during Jeopardy; she's still the reigning champ. When she wasn't watching Jeopardy or the Red Sox with her family, she could be found in the kitchen cooking up a delicious Italian feast. Whether it was making a costume or wearing one, she was the go to girl for make-up and creativity. She was the happiest when at the beach with her daughter, friends and family. She was a real life "cool mom" and she demonstrated the classic Letendre stubbornness right up until her last moments. She lived her life surrounded by friends that grew to be family. Throughout her difficult journey, she remained hopeful, positive, graceful, and Letendre Strong; enjoying every second as the gift it was.

Deb is survived by her father, Paul W. Letendre of Dracut; her daughter and son-in-law, Hollie and Christian Elwood of Dracut; her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Leanne Letendre of Hudson, NH; her niece and nephew, Kylie and Jacob Letendre of Hudson; her beloved "soft kitty", George; many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and her Copart family.

Deb's family would like to thank the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, and most importantly all the loved ones who gave selfless support and love throughout.
